A life of looking closely, finding words and making things.
I’m Robert Meyers-Lussier, a fine-art photographer, poet, author and cook. My work grows out of decades spent paying attention: to a landscape’s light, the feeling a poem can hold, and the way food connects us to places and people.
I grew up in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, lived in Japan as a teenage exchange student, and served in the U.S. Army. Along the way, I became a restaurant reviewer, culinary teacher, caterer and cookbook author, while building a career of more than thirty years in the legal field. Writing, photography and cooking have remained part of my life throughout.
Today, those pursuits meet in new ways. CogniCuisine is my approach to human-AI collaboration in the kitchen, grounded in cooking, tasting and revision. Under the name Plated Jams, I create music connected to my poetry, photographs and food. My published writing now includes poetry, fiction and drama.

A Story and a Play, Tethered by Poems
My first work of fiction brings together The Candymaker, its one-act stage adaptation TEMPER, and poems connecting the two. A candy shop becomes the setting for a story about craft, desire and the meanings people give to a shared moment.
